Since a long time, it has been my wish to write every day but write about what? Well, let's have another beginning.
I'll write whatever new I learn in the day. I hope it is a lot of writing!
I begin with the gym today. I watch a news clipping on CNA(Channel News Asia) about Jews in Indonesia. As reported, there is only one Synagogue in the whole of Indonesia and Jews find extremely tough to practice their religion.
Then before breakfast I read a few pages of the graphic version of Ann Frank's diary. If you are not aware, Annelies Marie Frank was a German-born Jewish girl who kept a diary in which she documented life in hiding under Nazi persecution.
I left since the Ann dies young and I can't pursue a tragic end story. Her father survives the holocaust and later sets up a foundation in her memory.
Further, I read a chapter of a book about the Koreas - it has become one of my favorite subject in years. The chapter focused how North Korean dictator Kim Il sung focused resources for weapons and heavy industry to pursue militarization while ignoring light industry and agriculture. North Korea stayed dependent on the largesse of the neighbors while South Korea, despite dictatorial rule as well, albeit not so harsh, prospered.
Kim Il Sung used propaganda to take the country in iron control. Image over substance, propaganda over performance.
